The Provider Perspective
Demystifying Health Topics: Health Writing From A Nurse Practitioner

Women's Health
What is commonly called Women's Health now encompasses healthcare for women, people identified as female at birth, transgender, and gender-neutral individuals. Healthcare in these populations stretches across the lifespan from adolescence into older adulthood and can include age-specific topics.
Understanding how to write content under the women's health umbrella requires the ability to speak frankly about bodily functions, physical changes, and human sexuality.
Talking with and educating women on these sensitive and often vulnerable topics is an area where I thrive as a healthcare provider. I empathize with the delicate questions and issues that may trigger embarrassment for some. I bring this perspective to candid yet sensitive writing on reproductive and women's health topics.
